Besides the controller, the two saw blades (Ø 600 mm) are the core of the DGS. They are moved forwards pneumatically. The saw blade protection system is also controlled pneumatically. The saw blade heads can be adjusted within a range of 22.5° to 90°, either via a planetary gear or pneumatically. The saw blades are positioned lengthwise by a program-controlled servo axle via a ball-bearing spindle. This achieves the dimensional accuracy required. The DGS is driven by two 3-phase 2.2 kW electric motors and 2,800 r.p.m. each. The minimum cut length is 200 mm (internal dimension), the maximum cut length is user-defined.
